1st Day of Preschool (4 Years Old)

Today was B's first day of Preschool this year :)

Thought it would be fun to compare to last years picture. She's getting so big!

After the first day, we already have some changes to be made. Not a bad thing, but just going with the flow and seeing what works best. Brynlee wanted to do school upstairs (our playroom) and I thought it might be good for Scarlett too b/c she would be distracted with all the toys. Fail! I should have known she would want to do everything Bryn was doing and when I didn't let her, she screamed all morning! Let me tell you, this little girl is a pro at throwing fits! So, it looks like we'll be moving school downstairs from now on which I think will actually be better for all of us!

Bryn was excited for her first day. She did a good job but it's going to take some time to get into the swing of things and for her to open up (just like last year.) I'll make a post on Friday about our first week and share what we've been up to!

Opening Ceremonies

Yesterday Bryn had her opening ceremonies for soccer! They all walked out and introduced the teams. Her team is called "The Storm." It's going to be cute watching this little girly girl play :)

Coach Daddy!

Her first game is in a couple weeks!

I don't need expensive paintings

I love having a home covered in my kid's artwork! :)

Listening to Brynlee's imagination as she tells the story of her pictures is priceless.

I'll still keep up their childhood artwork when they're old and have moved out of the house b/c it just makes me happy :)

25 Weeks

25 Weeks

*Baby is moving around a lot now. He/She likes to sleep during the day and have parties at night :)
*Nothing fits anymore. I've been living in my pjs & tank tops!
*Brynlee got to see my belly move last week and thought that was really cool :) She talks about the baby all the time!
*The nursery is pretty much finished. It's all gender neutral and I'll add a few boy/girl things once the baby is born. Scarlett is still staying in that room, but we've already set up her new crib in Bryn's room for them to share. I'll post pics soon!

We've also been listening to the baby's heartbeat. I bought the AngelSounds fetal doppler when I was pregnant with Scarlett and it's been such a fun thing to have to listen to the baby's heartbeat at home!

Homeschooling...???

It's August and Brynlee is 4! Which means she'll be starting kindergarten in a year! SCARY! I am still up in the air about homeschooling. My heart tells me to do it and that it's the best thing for our children, but my mind is making me feel inadequate of course and I don't want to look like a failure if it doesn't work out for us in the long run. I'm praying that God will lead me in the right direction and give me a clear vision for what is best for our family. With that said, since we have 1 year left (which I'm sure will fly by) until Kindergarten I have decided to continue preschool at home. I figure it's the last year that I really have a chance to "test it out" and make a decision by the end of the year! I purchased the K4 curriculum from Confessions of a Homeschooler and we'll be starting next week! I'm excited and going to give it my all, and be optimistic about teaching a 4 year old, entertaining a 1 year old, and taking care of a newborn! Hah...the ultimate test right ;) Wish us luck!!!

Brynlee has already decorated her binder and excited to start school :)
