Our 1st Real Christmas Tree

Stuart and I have never had a real Christmas tree! Growing up, my mom was allergic to them so we always had a fake one. I've always wanted to have the experience of going to cut down our own tree, so this year we did! It was fun to do together as a family, but I have to admit I'm not sure we're the best candidates for a live tree. Let's just say we kept it alive until Christmas, but it was pretty lopsided & droopy by then! I'm glad we had the experience, but I don't think it's something we will do every year. Fake trees are much easier....and cheaper! ;)

Ellie's 1st Birthday

We decided to opt out of a big 1st birthday party for Ellie and take her to Disneyland instead! We kept it low key with a Minnie cake at home on her real birthday, and the next day we headed to Disney!

Brynlee & Scarlett thought it was so funny that she was getting messy.

Neither of the big girls dug into their cake like Ellie did. It's safe to say she enjoyed it ;)

We were a little disappointed in how much smaller everything is at Disneyland! If you've ever been to DisneyWorld and then come here, it's a huge difference! Especially the castle! But of course, we still had fun :)

It was super busy being the week before Thanksgiving, but it's such a magical time going to Disney during the holidays. The lights are amazing!

First birthdays are always bittersweet. It's exciting to see these little girls grow and become more independent, but I will always miss having a tiny little baby in my arms!

Happy 1st birthday Elles! We love you!!
